Hi all,
I can now confirm that the official launch of Joe Hunter 3 - SLASH AND BURN - is scheduled for Wednesday 31st March 2010, at Waterstone's book shop, Scotch Street, Carlisle, Cumbria, and I extend an open invitation to all who want to attend.
This is your opportunity to get your first edition copies personally signed by yours truly, a day before the books go on general sale.
The more the merrier folks, tell all your friends
Matt

I'm starting swimming now, should make it there on time!!
This gonna be a bigger party with it being the third book?
I'm working on it. Hopefully going to make it. It would be good to meet you.
Aww thanks Dave, would be good to see you too, but remember it's Matt's night so you should be looking forward to seeing him really.
Actually Lee, i think he was talking to me, despite my not having posted yet. Unfortunately, living in Brighton means that i might struggle to get there. I do have friends in Cumbria, however, so a visit may be in order :)
Please Lee, tell me you're not going to turn up in a pair of speedos?
Sorry Matt, great news, hope to be able to make it!
Quote from Glaznost:
"Please Lee, tell me you're not going to turn up in a pair of speedos?" - is the world ready for this??????
I did say I would be there....but now.....
I will be there, and just in case anyone else turns up in speedos I'll be the one dressing to the right, but if it's very cold maybe the middle.
If it's that cold, you'll look like action man... Having made myself feel faintly queasy, i'll now go away...
Lee you'll recognise me, I'll be the one who hitch hiked down there with someone else's hand. It will be good to meet you...Matt. :-)
Can't wait...but I certainly won't be wearing speedoes. Maybe a pair of Don Estelle shorts (remember Lofty off 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum'?) would be more fitting. I've an image to uphold!
LOL - good stuff this!
Hope to be there to meet you all on Matt's big night. 125 miles... I'll starting walking now... I'll be the one with me toes sticking out of worn trainers (don't worry I'll trim me nails).
Matt, wear what you want as long as it's not that 'tea towel' tee-shirt!
Gosh, we haven't got to dress up for this 'do' have we....?
Matt - forget the shorts, pal - far too cold!!
(we won't go into the speedo's issue...)
Col, if I was feeling really generous I'd offer you a lift and save you a bit of wear on the old trainers - we have a longer journey than you (like the WHOLE of the M6!!)
You could pick me up en route - just keep your eyes on the hard shoulder area near Manchester!
Kidding. :) I'll sort summat.
Dress is optional.
Col, did you borrow those trainers off Dantalion?
Sue, i think i claim the furthest journey, coming from Brighton! I've got the M23, the M25, the M6 and then the main road up to the bookshop. I might even walk that bit twice just to get a bigger sympathy vote...
I'm asking very nicely at work tomrrow to see if i can get the time off. Roll on being a famous author so that i can pick my own annual leave...
Glaznost - Ok, you win! I'm not competitive, really - I'm not! (Damn&blast....!)
(Mind you, Paul Brazill might give you a run for your money - if he made it over from that Polish place that looks like the letters fell off a Scrabble board!)
I hope this Hilton chappy greets us with a drink after all this effort......
I was thinking of a drink, nibbles (little sausage rolls would be nice Matt), and maybe some kind of foot spa as we're all travelling so far. Failing that, we should all get together and go down the pub afterwards while Matt swans off with Luigi and co to some swanky restaurant...
Glaznost - off t't pub? I'll put the OH onto it - he works for CAMRA (they know a thing or two about 'hostelries'!)
Sounds Grand. I used to live in a Camra best pub awarded pub, so i trust his judgement...
mmmm...booze...
G - which pub? (No doubt the OH has been to it...! It gets a bit embarrassing when you walk into virtually any pub and someone says hello to him by name! I suppose that's the nature of his job...)
Sorry to hijack your thread, Matt ...
It's called the Three Moles and it's in Selham in West Sussex. I'm also sorry to hijack your thread Matt, but at least you know your readers are getting on...
I can't offer you CAMRA, but i can offer you CAMAR (which stands for Crown and Mitre across road) - see how clever I was there, folks!
I'm gonna be having drinks and sandwiches and cakes for about 50 folk and you're all welcome to come join me. Might even be a bag of XL cheese crisps or two on the go.
Matt, you've already got half of Englands waifs and strays turning up, if you feed them they'll never leave *looks to Col and co* yep them.
Oh very clever, Matt (CAMRA/CAMAR) :-p
Lee - we may be waifs and strays but we are very loyal waifs and strays! ;)
(....just sarnies, then, Matt???)
There might be a scramble for the best sarnies if everyone turns up. But if no one comes I know what I'll be eating for the next three weeks. Waifs and strays welcome.
I misread your last comment and thought you'd be eating waifs and strays. Got a little concerned then read it properly. Glad i'm not turning up just to be eaten over the next few weeks...
